Man vs. Food

I admit it. I am a huge fan of Man vs. Food. I can appreciate that a normal guy who loves to eat can take on some pretty huge portions of food. Sometimes, he eats large portions and other times he eats hot food that really makes him sweat and suffer.

I began to think about my life and struggle with my weight. I have always had a great love for southern foods and lots of it. You could say that this became a problem for me because at one point I was over 325 pounds. Often, you would hear me say “starting Monday, I will be starting a diet”. Many Mondays came and went, no diet. I began to spend time worrying about my overall health and how I was going to conquer the eating habits I had developed over the past twenty years. Finally, I realized that I couldn’t wait until I was ready or until the next Monday to get started on the road to weight loss success.

Since January last year, I have lost over 65 pounds and I have about 65 to 80 more to lose this coming year. I am not congratulating myself, but one day I realized that any obstacle in our lives is best dealt with starting right now. Salvation is a lot like this. I hear people tell me, they will quit smoking or drinking and then start going to church. Some say, I will wait until I get control over this addiction or obstacle before I become a follower of Christ. The fact is we all are sinners and fall short of God’s Plan. I have seen some pretty normal people take on huge problems and take a lot of heat for the sin in their lives. On Man vs. Food, sometimes he wins. When it comes to Man vs. Sin, we lose every time.

The scriptures say: 2 Corinthians 6:2 (Contemporary English Version)
“When the time came, I listened to you, and when you needed help, I came to save you.” That time has come. This is the day for you to be saved.

I cant go anywhere without someone saying that I look like Adam. So, I looked at some pictures and yes I do look like him a lot He’s a lucky guy. He would probably would think I was his long lost brother. The things he say’s and does reminds me of what I would say and do. I live on Long Island and would go to Brooklyn, my home town as well, to meet myself ,if Adam wants to meet himself..Sincerely John Triglia
