The Daily Journey: God working in You
Another verse that goes along with Romans 12:1,2 is Philippians 2:12, 13:
“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed - not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence - continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.”
To start a relationship with God through Jesus Christ you first ask forgiveness for your sin (1 John 1:9) based upon Jesus’ death and rising from the dead. This is always began in us by the moving of the Holy Spirit of God working in you. If you have done this think back to went this occurred. There was something inside you moving you with desire to want Jesus and his offer of eternal life. That was the Holy Spirit. In John 16:8 Jesus said he was going away and that he would send the Spirit who would convict the world of guilt regarding sin, righteousness and judgment. The Spirit convicts of sin but he also brings life. The fruit of the Spirit in a person’s life is listed in Galatians 5:22. They are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control.
If you are struggling in understanding the Spirit’s activity in your life start looking at the things the Bible says he would be doing. Start looking today by meditating in these scriptures and watching your life today in the things you desire and how you respnd to people around you. It can be quite eye opening!
